The phone cannot read SB1000 over NFC

Check reader availability, antenna placement, scan completion, and the device's NFC policy.

Check the NFC connection

  1. Confirm the phone/tablet has a compatible NFC reader. App installation alone does not mean the hardware can scan; tablets without NFC can still show offline help and templates.
  2. Start scanning inside the Varibits app. On Android, check that NFC is enabled where a system switch is available.
  3. Locate the phone's NFC antenna and hold it at the SB1000 NFC area until the scan finishes. Reposition slowly and try without a thick or metallic case.
  4. Read the actual message: no tag detected, locked reading, unsupported content, and an interrupted scan require different actions.
  5. If the device's NFC interface or reads are disabled, use the permitted web/local configuration route to inspect that policy.
  6. If a snapshot is readable but writing fails, follow the save-verification article rather than repeating reader-position tests.

Expected result

The app reads the correct SB1000 identity and supported settings. If it does not, record phone model, operating system, app/firmware versions, exact message, and whether another compatible phone can read the same device.
