Scanning works, but the BMS stopped communicating

Commissioning reserves the serial ports. Restore and verify normal operation after testing.

Return the unit to service

  1. Check whether commissioning mode is still active in the SB1000 web interface.
  2. Record the known-good serial settings and the intended production mode for each port. Finding a device while scanning alternate settings does not establish that those settings were saved for normal use.
  3. Finish any planned commissioning actions and restore any deliberate device overrides using the field-device procedure.
  4. Exit commissioning. Be prepared for the commissioning hotspot to close; use the intended production network connection afterward.
  5. Verify the selected port's normal mode, baud/parity/data/stop settings, TCP service port, and field-device Unit ID.
  6. Reconnect the BMS and repeat the known-good read. Then confirm that ordinary polling and data-quality indications recover.

The commissioning device list and a successful scan do not automatically configure the external BMS point definitions.

Expected result

The SB1000 is in the intended normal mode and the BMS receives the correct live value. Include the active mode and the before/after settings if service does not recover.
