SB1000 does not power on
Check the external supply and connectors, then contact support if the unit remains unresponsive.
Check the external supply
- Confirm the supply matches the SB1000 product label: 9–24 V AC/DC.
- Have the supply at the SB1000 terminals and any loose/damaged connectors checked by a person qualified for the installation.
- If appropriate for the installation, disconnect the supply briefly, reconnect it, and check whether the unit starts.
- Record the supply details, serial number, and LED behavior.
If the unit still does not start
Contact Varibits before opening the enclosure or inspecting the internal protective fuse. The unit must be disconnected from power and field wiring before internal inspection by qualified service personnel. Never bypass the fuse or replace it with a different rating.
A completely unpowered unit cannot run its own diagnostics. Network and RS485 self-tests are useful only after it starts.
Expected result
The unit starts reliably with the correct supply, or support has the supply and identity information needed to assess a hardware/service issue.
