This Privacy Policy explains how Varibits AS (“Varibits”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit varibits.com or place an order with us. We are the data controller for the processing described here.

1. What we collect
- Account & order data: name, billing/shipping address, email, phone and order history.
- Payment data: handled by our payment providers; we do not store full card numbers.
- Sign-in data: if you sign in with Microsoft or Google, we receive your name and email from that provider to create or match your account.
- Communications: messages you send us via the contact form or email.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and cookies (see section 6).
2. Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To process and deliver your orders and provide support — performance of a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
- To manage your account and sign-in — contract / your consent.
- To meet accounting and tax obligations — legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).
- To operate, improve and secure the website — our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- To send marketing only where you have opted in — consent (Art. 6(1)(a)).
3. Who we share it with
We share data only as needed with: payment processors (e.g. Stripe), shipping carriers, our hosting and email providers (Microsoft 365), and the identity provider you choose to sign in with (Microsoft or Google). We may disclose data to public authorities where legally required. We do not sell your personal data.
4. International transfers
Some providers may process data outside Norway/the EEA. Where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place.
5. How long we keep it
Order and accounting records are retained as required by Norwegian bookkeeping law (generally five years). Account data is kept until you ask us to delete it.
6. Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for the shop to function (cart, checkout, login) and, where applicable, for analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our processing of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact info@varibits.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet, datatilsynet.no).

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page.
